It’s said you meet the same kind of people everywhere you go.
I so blindly didn’t believe it until the lines were chopped in front of my face.
It was Wednesday until I felt like myself again.
I just wanted to feel nothing.
Or something besides the empty, shallow feeling in the pit of my stomach.
The people are different, but the energy is the same.
Naive isn’t an excuse.
I guess we’re bound to fall and fail while we try to heal and grow in earnest.
I thought of you that night.
Wondering what you were up to and how your big cities were treating you.
There’s a glimmer of me that still wishes we could of made it work.
We are different sentences written chapters apart.
You’re all the things I want away from but can’t say no to.
I’m always giving the wrong things a chance and pushing the right things away. #jonesinforwords#writingmyrecovery#trauma#healing#movingforward#glimmer#naive#empty#feelsomething#writingismyfreedom#instawrite#writerscommunity#anonymous

Before/After Rush Hour
———————————————————————- I cross this section of Changchun’s South Lake Road very several times each week. It’s rare to find it this empty. Normally, it’s packed with 100s, if not 1000s of cars with rather impatient drivers behind the wheels. The use of horns here has a whole new definition, so it’s also a rather noisy environment during certain hours of each day. When finally the roads clear up however, it becomes strangely peaceful and quiet. One may not get too used to this for very long though, soon enough the madness begins again. As always, I took this picture on my iPhone 7 and eventually edited it using Lightroom CC.
