I learned this the hard way with #cosplay ! While I understand sewing and can do it well, armor was not so easy. It wasn’t terrible but I couldn’t dedicate time to armor, sewing for cosplay and make time to improve my writing and gaming. At the end I had to determine what attractive quality brought me to each craft. My costumes were great enough to win 1st place in multiple contests and my writing was published after entering a contest. I don’t have ambition to win awards in competitions around games yet I constantly pushed by a few who know that my ability to process and dominate TCG online could be translated in person and tournaments. The problem is, going back to the quote above, I can’t be great at everything. I can’t play league and write, and if I don’t have room to sew, where will I keep cards? It’s sad that I can’t perfect it all but as I get closer to publishing a book, maybe I will get into a TCG. The effort though will either be placed on winning an award with my writing or winning as a gamer...I am sure I can get both, but not at the same time. .

LOSE FAT NOT MUSCLE 👇🏼👇🏼
💪🏼Here are the results of my most recent body fat test that I did at @body_fat_test_la I clocked in at my lowest ever which was 3.2% body fat. When dieting, it’s difficult to maintain muscle especially as you get into the single digits body fat % areas. If you can maintain your muscle while losing fat that would be considered a win. If somebody is around 15% & wants to get down to around 8% it is possible to do so while maintaining muscle. Several things have to happen correctly.
⚖️You need to be in a calorie deficit, the way you divvy up your macros can really make a difference muscle maintenance. Your weight training programming must send strong signals to your body that creates the need to maintain muscle mass, this is generally going to be a combination between heavy lifting & proper frequency. The most important macro is protein. Keeping protein around 1g per bodyweight is a good starting point while dieting, the lower your body fat the more you consider giving yourself a bit more protein. I generally never go higher than 1.5 g per lb of my body weight in protein. That is usually when I am near the end of my diet & bf% is extremely low as well as calories.
🏃🏼♀️Fasted cardio is something I tend try to avoid. Nothing matters more than calories in VS calories out, whatever time you eat your food or whatever time you do cardio doesn’t matter. However performing cardio in a Fasted state is definitely a high risk for losing muscle, Especially if you’re doing more than 30 minutes at a time, your body will adapt to the long-distance capability and maintaining to tons of muscle is generally not the best frame for a long distance cardio. If I have to do more than 30 min I would prefer to split my cardio in two sessions.
🍗Protein distribution is also something I value. Eating around a min of 30g of protein 4 to 6 times a day can help maximize protein synthesis. The more hours your body is in protein synthesis the more hours in the day you will be in a anabolic vs a catabolic state.. Avoid having protein doses too close together as you need to allow your body to become sensitive to protein before you can take another dose.
