BIG MAGIC posters are HERE!
My wonderful publishing house, @riverheadbooks , has partnered up with the equally wonderful print-producing outfit @20x200 , in order to create posters of all sizes from some of Riverhead's coolest book jackets.
I'm delighted that the BIG MAGIC cover is available now as a print. I love this cover so much. (Fun fact: the woman who designed it, Helen Yentus, also designed that perfect cover for EAT PRAY LOVE. So you know you're in good hands when she creates a vision for your book!) Anyway, my dears...maybe this is a nice holiday gift idea for the creator in your life...or maybe it's a gift for the creator who is YOU, and who just needs a bright reminder that magic loves us, and wants to move through us through creative expression.

Why am I posing within the fronds of a house plant, like a fool?
Because I have a very special plant-related announcement to make, and this is the best I can do, people!
This Friday morning, December 1, I will have the GREAT PLEASURE to be at the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx, speaking onstage with my dear friend Robin Wall Kimmerer.
Robin is a beautiful writer and thinker on the subject of plants, and her book GATHERING MOSS was an inspiration for me, when I was working on THE SIGNATURE OF ALL THINGS. (When I was working on that novel, I made a sacred pilgrimage to upstate New York to meet her in person, and she was kind enough to take me walking in the woods and introduce me in person to her friends the mosses. Alma would not have been Alma without the influence of Robin.) I will be introducing Robin onstage, and asking her some questions, and guiding the Q&A... but mostly I will be there to listen to her speak about the ways that our lives are interconnected to the plant world. She's brilliant.
This is going to be a lovely morning. Don't miss it, if you are in the New York area!
You can find tickets by googling her name, Robin Wall Kimmerer, and NYBG. Or just go to the New York Botanical Garden's website and look for events on December 1. You can figure this out! It's going to be lovely. See you there! (also, she wrote the incredible book BRAIDING SWEETGRASS, which you should read if you love plants)
Breaking news: Casually balled-up random napkin magically transforms into elegant origami peace crane JUST BY SITTING THERE WHERE IT WAS THROWN. Be that random balled-up napkin today, my friends! Turn yourself into beauty, right there where you have been discarded. I love you. The end.
