Stop being Male Thot Fvck Boy Dusty Whore Coons #RunFromTheDevil - #Repost@theroots
Released on September 21, 2010.
The @JohnLegend@TheRoots collab was crowned winner of the 2010 @recordingacademy Grammy Award for Best R&B Album.
The Wake Up album paid tribute to legends of the past and introduced new legends of the future. It was a critical success and considered a reintroduction of soul music as a tool for social change.
@Questlove remarked, "I wanted to choose cover songs that were so under the radar, so uniquely interpreted, that it would take you a second to realise that these are cover songs"
America's political climate formed the bedrock for the album's creation, "I was in the middle of campaigning for Barack Obama and feeling inspired by the atmosphere in the country at the time, so I wanted to do something musically that reflected that moment. The original idea was to do some sort of covers EP, but the more I got into it with the Roots, it felt like something that should be heard and marketed on its own," commented John Legend.
Wake Up resonates more than ever today, like the power work of its predecessors Everything is Everything and What's Going On, and continues to be a valuable resource for uplift in these trying times.
What are your most memorable tracks?
Keller Williams Realty of the Black Hills, where Rep. Lynne DiSanto was previously listed as an associate realtor, announced on Facebook that it was no longer associated with her. The image she uploaded in a public Facebook post said, "All lives splatter. Nobody cares about your protests. Keep your ass out of the road." DiSanto in her post added, "I think this is a movement we can all support." Comments from friends and constituents on the post were initially supportive of the image. After the post was more widely circulated the tone of comments turned against DiSanto until she deleted the post Tuesday afternoon. DiSanto is set to again serve as majority whip during the 2018 legislative session.

The 7,500 Year History of Chickpeas!
Chickpeas are a legume of the plant family Fabaceae. Domesticated chickpeas have been found in regions of Turkey and Greece, with records dating back thousands of years to Ancient times. It’s believed that garbanzo beans were first consumed by Ancient Mediterranean populations between 7500-10,000 years ago, and then spread to southern France and Germany shortly after.
In classical Greece, the beans were often included in sweet desserts and were even consumed raw. Ancient Roman populations prepared the beans in broths, roasts, and stews or enjoyed them as snacks.
The use of chickpeas spread across the Middle East in the years to follow, becoming a staple in nearly every nation’s traditional diet, as it still is today. While chickpeas have been popular worldwide for centuries, they are only recently moving into the spotlight in North America, where the rise in popularity of Middle Eastern recipes like hummus and falafel have introduced many new people to how great chickpeas can taste. People across the US now commonly consume chickpeas due to their many culinary uses and noted health benefits.
