Holy humidity!!! Wow! If I didn't k ow better, I'd think this was July. It was ridiculous out there today, and that killed me out there today. My splits were all great, but it didn't feel easy, and now my stomach hates me because of the speed and humidity. I forgot what this weather does to my body. But, I have to admit that I am so happy to be back to my 3:00 am wake up calls. I took two days off and I felt so lethargic and unmotivated to do anything. You'd think sleeping in would make a person feel better, but I swear it does the exact opposite to me. I need a schedule and a routine, and I'm glad to be back at it. Oh and my skunk wasn't there today. I kind of missed the little guy 😆. ****************************************
Today's run consisted of a 2 mile WU, 4 x 800 at 10k pace (7:00- 7:20) with 90 second recoveries, 4 x 400 at 5k pace (6:30-6:50) with 90 second recoveries, and a 2 mile CD. I think I ran most of my splits too fast. #zensah
Approximately 10 weeks out from the @sgmarathon, and this means I need to start clocking my miles! (We all know I haven't done any prep 😅)
This would be my 2nd year participating in the run, and for someone whose training regime consists of mainly HIIT workouts and anaerobic weight training, endurance style running is most definitely a challenge! I feel unusually gassed literally within the first kilometer.
I've been reading up online on running training programs and tips. I don't profess to be the authority on this subject, but it seems like some common themes are
✔️ Set a goal
✔️ Follow a training program
✔️ Be consistent
