Celebrating International Day of Peace. Gathering to meditate, elevate and develope inner peace, so we can bring harmony to our families, society and planet.
Thank you Jon Kabat-Zinn for your guidance.
It's almost Friday guys - for me it's already my Friday as I'm off to a wedding tomorrow for my wonderful friend @beth_707! 👰🎉 It's going to be held down by the coastline in a beautiful castle! 🏰
So over to today's pic ➡ here I am doing some yoga on my lunch break 🙏 as part of my new routine which is to squeeze some exercise into my days in the office.🖥 I use the Yoga Studio app which I find so handy + I love the way the classes are split into beginner, intermediate + advanced.
It's so important to MOVE on a daily basis - and not just walking to + from the car!! 🙈 Exercise is not only important for healthy weight + building muscle, it's also vital for our lymphatic system!
So do you know what your lymphatic system does?🤔 It's essentially our body's sewer system + is made up of a huge network of vessels, very similar to blood vessels in our cardiovascular system.🔀 The blood system brings oxygen + nutrients to our cells, + the lymphatic system removes cellular wastes, debris + disease components, along with infection-fighting white blood cells.
Unlike our cardiovascular system, our lymphatic system is not connected to our heart, so we don't have any organs responsible for pumping the lymph fluid around the body. This is where EXERCISE comes in...🙅 + yoga is the perfect activity for the job as it involves reversing the effect of gravity, twisting + stretching, which stimulate lymph vessels to push their fluids back towards the chest, where it is dumped into the circulatory system.
Make it your goal to bring movement into your life on a daily basis! Additional ways to help move lymph fluid includes deep breathing🌬, rebounding🔃+ massage.👐 Getting this fluid in motion is especially important for the efficient prevention + removal of infections.

Your love for yourself sets the standards for others. ❤️ #love
When we limit how we love no one wins. We spend so much time convincing people to love & choose us. What we don't see is that when we do that we send the message to ourselves that our feelings aren't valid & that it's OK to abandon ourselves to be loved by others.
Understand this logic: The fear of abandonment causes us to birth the abandonment of our own hearts & souls. Soooooo... choose you.. Love you.. honor your truths, needs & emotions. This is what self love is & what people mean when they say, "it all begins with you!" Bc your love for your self sets the standards for others 👊🏼 #boom#createthelove#somuchlove#giveback#loyalty#adventure#loveyourself#loveyourmelon#beachbunny#beachbunnybabe#beachbunnyswim#skateboarding#skate

"There is none equal or superior to him. He is the ultimate goal of saintly people, yet chooses for himself a ghastly way of life. This is because he wishes to remind us that body is but destined to be food for dogs. Those unfortunate people who delight in decorating it, don't understand Shiva, who is ever absorbed in self bliss" Shrimad Bhagwatam.
Shiva, MahaYogi, great Tapasvi, who has gained highest perfection and mediation and austerity. An austere ascetic Digambara, body covered with ashes and matted hair, teaching men by his own example the power to be acquired by renunciation & suppression of passions. Shiva is the epitome of detachment, while still maintaining a deep love for his family and the world. Through Vairagya, we can learn to control our emotions as Shiva does. We must learn to keep emotions in check, so that they do not overpower us and control our lives. And we must strive to achieve inner peace and outward calm. For Shiva, detachment means being calm internally as well as externally. Renunciation is always in the mind, the mind does not turn outwards but inwards. Too much attachment leads to suffering. Shiva was so attached to Sati, when she died he was utterly devastated, his personal suffering nearly destroyed the world. His grief turned to rage. In his anger he began to dance. The ferocity of his dance had a near catastrophic effect upon Earth. It was lord Vishnu’s presence of mind that Shiva could be calmed down enough to reconnect with his Vairagya, avoiding further destruction. Hence the goal is to strike the right balance between detachment and emotions, helping you move away from adverse situations, away from brooding and worry, but toward a state of deeper awareness and indeed, compassion for yourself and others.! ✨🌊👁🐬🕉🔱💀📿💦🐍🌙🐚🔔🌀🐋🎨✨
Meditating has always felt very challenging to me: this mind is hella busy, and slowing it down is no easy feat. The irony of course, is that meditating is exactly what I need to slow it down. You can understand my conundrum. Recently I figured out how to trick myself into a few different ways of meditating that work for me, and leave my busy brain feeling a little more rested. One is to stand or walk instead of sitting or lying down. Standing meditation, especially outside, and especially at night, feels incredible. To start, just go outside, and um, stand. Visualize your feet feeling deeply connected to the earth, and focus on the rhythm of your breathing. Another meditation practice I love is incorporating mantras over and over into my day. Again, this feels the most powerful while you're outside, and can be incorporated in your thoughts as you're walking. One of the tattoos on my right arm is a great one, "to call myself beloved, to feel myself beloved on the earth." I have a few go to's that resonate for me, but you should feel free to use whatever collection of words gets you right at your core, and makes you feel simultaneously lighter, and more grounded. Lastly, guided meditations are where it's at. Listening to someone's soothing voice walk you through relaxation is calming, and gives you something to focus on to get centred. YouTube has a ton, some better than others. Is meditation a part of your daily self care? Weekly? Never? What makes you feel peace, at home, within yourself? I'm working on recording a guided meditation and making it available for my followers to download...would that be your jam? So many questions for you! Can't wait to hear what you think 🖤✨
